A marina nestled in the village

Marina di Santa Marinella is just a doorstep away from Capo Linaro, a historical destination for nautical tourism located to the north of Rome. The majestic silhouette of the XIV-century castle “Castello Odescalchi” rises upon the city. The marina is located at the heart of the city centre of Santa Marinella, also called the “Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea”, and it is a popular seaside destination close to Rome.
In-fact, since ancient times, the town has been a traditional haven for the Roman bourgeoisie.

All services and commercial activities that you need for your stay in the boat are available in the village of Santa Marinella, of which the marina is an integral part.

Sailing. A true passion!

Marina di Santa Marinella enjoys an ideal climate, fanned by cool air that blows down from the Monti della Tolfa in summer and sheltered from cold north-easterly winds by the same mountains in winter. This makes it the perfect place for sailing, which explains why it has become a reference point for small monotype boats, from the Laser to the Optimist, the Este 24 and the Melges 24.

In fact, the Circolo Nautico Guglielmo Marconi, which has its headquarters here, organises various regattas, including the Este 24 winter championship. Moreover, the Planet Sail association from Bracciano moves to Santa Marinella for the Optimist, Laser and 29er regattas, as the weather conditions are better here in winter than on Lake Bracciano. What is more, the historic “Roma per tutti” regatta, which runs there and back between Civitavecchia and Lipari, also starts in these waters.

Lazio’s beautiful Maremma area

Santa Marinella – nestled between the mountains and the sea – is one of the most popular seaside resorts on the coast near Rome and not surprisingly it is called “The Tyrrhenian Pearl” for its enviable climate and morphological diversity that alternates long sandy beaches to cliffs on the sea.
In these lands history has left a still visible mark: the Etruscan Coast. Its ancient civilization passed archaeological sites in excellent condition and for this reason they are much envied in the rest of the world.
And then Rome, well connected to the town, with its majestic artworks that marked the fate of the entire Western world, but you can also find traditions and myths that still today echo in the imagination of visitors.
A natural vocation for surfing, a healthy and tasty cuisine, full expression of the Mediterranean lifestyle that make this place a marine oasis that proudly preserves its traditions, suspended between sea and mountains, between past and present.

Expansion

marina di santa marinella

Porto Romano S.p.A., that operates Marina di Santa Marinella, has commissioned the planning offices – with which it works with – to produce a long and detailed study regarding the possibility of expanding the marina’s capacity. This project entails the construction of an innovative breakwater made from natural rocks and the continuation of the current moorings, the development of modern floating jetties and the creation of a renovated and more adequate boatbuilding area, endowed with enough space for efficient use.

Upon completion of the work, the total capacity is expected to be around 900 berths of various categories, although not exceeding the current maximum length, so as not to make excessive changes to its vocation as a small marina for pleasure boats. A future marked by important development for a town such as Santa Marinella, which will have a major effect on business and employment throughout the surrounding area.
